Breaking the Barrier to Padel
Where Sport Meets Lifestyle
Jetour Midrand’s Pop, Pour & Padel morning showed how sport, lifestyle and community are reshaping the modern padel experience.
For many women, padel has always looked exciting from a distance. The courts are full, the clubs are buzzing and the social energy around the sport continues to grow across South Africa. Yet for many newcomers, especially women wanting to enter the game for the first time, the experience can still feel intimidating from the outside.
Where do you play? How do bookings work? What racket do you buy? Do you need your own equipment? What even is Playtomic?
These were some of the questions quietly sitting in the minds of many of the women who attended Jetour Midrand’s exclusive Pop, Pour & Padel morning at Coalition Padel Kyalami.
Instead of creating another high-pressure sports event, the morning focused on something far more important: accessibility.
Hosted by PadelPulseTV presenter Claudia Henkel, the experience was designed as a relaxed and welcoming introduction to the game. Many of the ladies attending had never stepped onto a padel court before. They had watched the sport explode across social media and around Johannesburg’s clubs, but still felt outside the culture because they did not know where to begin.
That barrier quickly disappeared.

A New Way Into the Game
Claudia guided the group through a full Padel 101 session, breaking down everything from scoring and court etiquette to safety, racket rentals and how to use Playtomic to book courts and connect with clubs. What initially felt unfamiliar soon became approachable, with conversations shifting from uncertainty to excitement as the morning unfolded.
The atmosphere throughout the event reflected what makes padel so unique. There was movement, laughter, conversation and curiosity. Between coaching sessions and introductions to the game, guests explored Jetour’s latest range, including the stylish Dashing and premium X70 Plus models, while experiencing the lifestyle positioning behind the brand in an environment that felt both premium and relaxed.
The morning perfectly reflected the growing intersection where sport meets lifestyle, something both Jetour Midrand and Padel Pulse continue to explore through community-driven experiences built around movement, connection and accessibility.
“Many had watched padel from the outside but never knew how to enter the game.”
More Than Just Sport
More importantly, the event showed how padel continues to evolve beyond sport. Across South Africa, the game is becoming a new social language where wellness, community and lifestyle naturally intersect. For many attending the Jetour Midrand morning, this was not simply about learning how to hold a racket. It was about finally feeling invited into an environment they had previously watched from afar.
By the end of the session, the hesitation many had arrived with had been replaced by confidence. Conversations shifted toward booking future games, introducing friends and bringing family members into the sport. What started as a beginner-friendly introduction quickly became something bigger: a reminder that padel’s rapid growth will ultimately depend on how welcoming the culture becomes for new players entering the game.
Jetour Midrand’s Pop, Pour & Padel morning succeeded because it understood something important. Sometimes the biggest step into sport is not competition.
It is simply making people feel comfortable enough to start.
In an environment built around conversation, movement and discovery, the morning became a perfect example of where sport meets lifestyle in South Africa’s fast-growing padel culture.
