The “Love all series” by Kabelo Maroloki

PROJECT STATEMENT

The “Love all series” explores the vibrant intersection of play, purpose, and repurposed material. It began with a painting auctioned for charity, which led to this unique collaboration with Nordee Padel Amazeballs.

Each piece in this series is built upon a foundation of used padel balls. These balls, once symbols of active play and community, are transformed into a new textural canvas. I see them as individual capsules of expended energy and joy. By fusing them into my artwork, I aim to give that energy a second life, embedding the very spirit of the game into the visual narrative.

The themes of happiness and joy are not merely depicted but are physically constructed from the artefacts of sport. This layering of meaning, where sport meets art and where commerce meets charity, is central to the work. The sale of each piece extends this cycle of joy, supporting the vital sanctuary of children’s centres in Cape Town. Thus, the artwork becomes a tangible link between the joy of play, the passion of creation, and the profound hope of providing a safe haven for children
