From Court Vision to Continental Impact

How Mohammed Majam Is Rewriting South Africa’s Padel Playbook
By The Smasher | Editor-in-Chief, Padel Ball Life Magazine
Johannesburg, June 2025 If you know padel in South Africa, chances are you know Moemz. Mohammed Majam, the visionary behind 360 Padel, isn’t just organizing matches; he’s laying the groundwork for a national ecosystem. With two headline-grabbing ventures, the SA Invitational and the new 360 Padel Diamond League, Mo is bringing global talent, franchise excitement, and homegrown development under one ambitious roof.
Why the SA Invitational Matters
Mo credits the runaway success of last year’s Durban Masters as the spark. “When we saw fans lining up to watch Leo Augsburger and Alex Chozas play, we knew South Africa was ready,” he explains.
Now, with Galán, Di Nenno, Stupaczuk, and LeBron confirmed, and the DP World Wanderers Stadium as host, the SA Invitational is going big. Very big.
“It’s not just a match, it’s a full-day experience,” Mo says. “We’re talking international stars, South African talent, music, activations, and more.”
Set for 15–17 August 2025, the tournament boasts a €500,000 prize pool and aims to earn South Africa a spot on the Premier Padel circuit.

Inside the Diamond League
Running parallel to the Invitational is a domestic game-changer: the 360 Padel Diamond League.
Mo describes it as “the pinnacle of domestic padel,” modelled after elite franchise formats. With six new franchises, captains like Tremayne Mitchell and Richard Ashforth, and R750,000 in player auctions, the stakes are higher and the competition sharper than ever.
“This league forces dominant pairs to split and adapt. That’s where real growth happens.”
With players flying in weekly from Cape Town and Durban, and matches held at 10by20 KCC, the Diamond League is bringing pro-style consistency to South African padel.
Building From the Ground Up: Youth, Access, and a Vision for 2027
Mo’s vision isn’t just about spectacle. He’s just as focused on youth development through the 360 Padel Academy and its newly launched Youth Championship League.
“We’ve hosted 188 players across 176 games in one day. The goal is regular, high-quality play and a clear development pathway.”
Mo’s dream? A fully operational structure from juniors to pros, with South African players breaking into the global Top 100 by 2027.
But he’s honest about the hurdles:
“Money in padel is often thrown into the wrong things. We need to fund what builds long-term systems, not just short-term hype.”
Get Involved
360 Padel is actively seeking sponsors, clubs, and collaborators who share Mo’s vision.
“Let’s work together, not against each other, to grow the sport in South Africa.”
Final Rally: Mo’s Mission in Motion
From the international spotlight to dusty local courts, Mo Majam is proving that padel isn’t just a trend, it’s a movement. And with his drive, connections, and conviction, he’s making sure South Africa doesn’t just watch the world stage it plays on it.
